Egroeg, 34 Lochbay, Waternish, Isle of Skye IV55 8GD Tel 01470 592700
It’s in the detail! And not details for the sake of being pretentious – but the details that let you relax and have fun and enjoy your break away on the beautiful Isle of Skye. From the minute you drive through the gate & pull into the driveway, with ample parking for cars (and even camper vans), you’ll love the peaceful location & sea views, and enjoy all the features, designed with your comfort in mind. Egroeg is pictured in the foreground of the photo above. The house was designed and built for Pam Carvell, the owner, in 2009. It has 2 guest bedrooms on the ground floor( 1 double and 1 twin), each with sea views and their own bathrooms. The underfloor heating is powered by an airsource heat pump, providing a cosy home with ample hot water at all times. Most of the furniture and soft furnishings have come from John Lewis – from the bedside lights to the Egyptian cotton towels. The house has broadband and even has Vodafone Sure Signal (mobile phone signals are not great on Skye!). There is a spacious entrance hall, utility room, cloakroom and storeroom on the ground floor, with ample shelving and hooks where guest can leave outdoor clothes etc. The house is set on a hillside in half an acre and has its own stream. The bedrooms have blackout blinds, pure wool carpets, built-in wardrobes, a small desk area with mirror over and sockets underneath & 2 easy chairs. Bathrobes are provided for guests use during their stay, and the large bathsheets are Egyptian cotton, Toiletries are either L’Occitane or Gilchrest & Soames. Enjoy stunning views out to the Isle of Harris as you tuck into a freshly cooked full Scottish breakfast, including local produce. Waternish is off the Portree to Dunvegan Road , with Egroeg being 2.7miles from the junction, just after you have crossed the second cattle grid. Dunvegan Castle is just over 6 miles away and fabulous local attractions such as SkyeSkyns, Brae Fasach Gallery, Lochbay Seafood Restaurant and the Stein Inn (the oldest pub on Skye) are just over 1 mile away. There are endless walks, with the sea and/or mountains at practically every turn. Egroeg is open for B&B guests from 8th – 30th June & 16th July – 6th August 2010. Choose from a double room for £80 per night B&B for 2 people or the twin room for £60 per night B&B for 2 people. We are happy to take stays of one night. Full payment is required at time of booking & will only be refunded if the stay is cancelled at least 7 days in advance of arrival. NOTE: Unfortunately we do not accommodate small children, as the house with it large central staircase & stove is not best-suited to little ones! ALSO: Kiko (miniature Schnauzer) & Louis (Scottie) live at Egroeg, so if you are not keen on dogs this may not be the best place for you to stay!
